Bored with your regular routine? Not so excited about things that used to make you happy? A simple change of pace can help get you out of a rut, writes Cynthia Hanson:

"As human beings, we made it through the process of evolution because we're flexible and adaptable, so we are wired for change," says Shelley Weiss Cohen, a life coach in Northfield, Illinois, who works with people to make changes in their personal or professional lives. "When we're in a rut, it's another way of saying that we're not experiencing enough change or variety."

The Dow is now about 5% lower than it was five-plus years ago when President Bush was selected and we went to more or less total right-wing Republican control. (This is not to tar all Congressional Republicans as rightwing; but you will not find moderate Republicans in the leadership.)

In that same time, we have also lost the good will of much of the world and added 35% to our national debt.

But at least we got Bin-Laden.
