Another grim world
I spent the better part of my youth listening to Brian Eno's albums "Here Come the Warm Jets" and "Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)." In later years, I found his discourse on art, science and technology to be valuable and fascinating. Now he is providing a thoughtful perspective on how the U.S. looks from Europe. It's an important read. As my colleague Joe Conason points out, what a shame that this is available only in the Time magazine "European edition." Sort of defeats the purpose... Notes on reading an electronic book. Brad Templeton (EFF's chairman) has a page of very useful tips for making the experience of reading long passages of onscreen text more pleasant.
It may be best to make the type very large and to sit far back from the screen. This makes things sharper (if you have good vision) and allows you to change your posture from time to time as you normally do when reading paper.
